Trish Ryan finished third at the three-star class in Ballindenisk, Co. Cork today (Sunday) after dislodging two poles in the final show jumping phase.
Leading through dressage and cross country, the Cork rider had less than one penalty point in hand this morning over British challenger, European team gold medallist Oliver Townend with Cooley SRS.
Ryan, riding the Irish Sport Horse Tullineaskey Hi Ho, saw her eight faults in the show jumping phase drop her two places on the leaderboard, with Townend on a clear round claiming the winner’s rosette, while Belgium’s Stephanie D’Andrimont and Alexander IV collected four faults today to bring the combination into second place.
